Hello! My name is Andrea, and I am a single parent to a disabled child with special needs named Leland. He faced many challenges early in life, going to foster care at age 6. We met several years ago when I was assigned as his nurse at his second foster home and ended up adopting him during the pandemic. Since then, we have had quite the journey together. Leland loves music, especially Don McLean’s “American Pie,” as well as the movies “Frozen” and “Moana.” His favorite color is purple, and he enjoys potatoes in any form, shape or style.
I am a 50ish year-old mom of 3 boys and a registered nurse, currently trying to complete my bachelor’s degree. My passions include novice blogging, eating clean, discovering the perfect cup of coffee, beginner homesteading, and dedicating time to aeroponic and hydroponic gardening. I am a strong advocate for self-care and fighting caregiver burnout through awareness and creativity in any form that calms my soul and brings me peace.
