3rd Step to Saving Money: Track Your Spending

After filling out sections in the spending summary, you will see an overall view of what you need for your bills and what you can trim away. Scary as that may seem, it is good for you to see ALL your debt. Now, don’t let it overwhelm you. You are taking the first step to change it. This book is going to be your checkbook. I usually list by months. I am 99.9% exact on my amount every time I balance it. If it is incorrect, it is usually my error. I like that it is larger than a traditional checkbook register. I include specific notes with the entries when needed.

There is no magic to this. It is simply gathering your information in one place and organizing it. If you already have your method, BRAVO!
